A classic. Old school but fresh. Really good experience
My wife and I had our wedding here 28 years ago. We recently visited with one of our 4 children and his fiance who are searching for a venue. The transformation of the Inn was amazing. It was beautiful when we were married but the theme rooms and outside garden area are stunning. We stopped in without an appointment on a Sunday afternoon and the wedding planner was not there but the young lady at the front desk gave us a wonderful tour and the contact information of the wedding planner to get additional information from.
The staff is outrageously rude. They do not greet you & the place is horrendous. The rooms are not taken care of. Found blood & hair on my bed sheets along with other stains. As for the towels, there's never enough & when asked for more there response is "we are all out". The man making eggs in the breakfast room does not wear gloves or hairnets. My fiance & I found hair in our food. The management does not keep up with the place as she should. Very sad I spent what I spent for a horrible time. I will never waste my money again on that place.
I spent one night there and the room rate was $299.00 before taxes. My room was large enough and very comfortable. The bathroom was tiny-smaller than your average Courtyard Marriott. For what I paid, I expected service and got none. You have to bring your own bags in and up to the room- and luggage carts are not always readily available. Again, for what I paid, I expected a lovely breakfast experience. What the inn provided was no better than your average motel off the highway- plastic plates, plastic utensils from a dispenser, coffee in paper cups etc. I would certainly never go back.
I have stayed several times and have participated in functions held at the Litchfield Inn in recent years. It has the nicest rooms in the area, but one shouldn't expect high value for the price paid. Staff recently have trended toward the unfriendly for some reason, with front desk staff being peculiarly unhelpful on the phone. It's such a shame that this place doesn't warrant 5 stars. It easily could with priper attention, but it simply seems as if management couldn't be bothered to make it a great experience for guests.
